People give for different reason. Some people give for recognition. Some people give with the intent of receiving something in return. Some people give because that‘s what‘s in their hearts to do. When you give for the right reasons, giving can be one of the most selfless things that you can do in your life. I love to give whether it is time, love, food, money (please don’t email me asking for money) or just a word of wisdom. I love to give. We live in a society where people do not give without looking for something in return. We all want to receive a blessing, but are we willing to be a blessing for someone else?
Saturday I went running at the park near my house. There was a group of special needs children there. They really touched my heart because they were so happy and full of joy. I honestly had no plans on talking to them and playing with them, but one came up to me after I finished running and said, “Mr. Will you throw with me?” Honestly I had somewhere to be. Then I noticed it was all these boys playing and no men (there where only female volunteers), so I stopped and played with them. I think I got more joy out of playing with them than they did playing with me. To see their faces and all the joy I brought to them made me happy and proud.
Sometimes we only think of giving as something monetary. No, it can be so many different things. We have to stop thinking that we cannot give because we don’t have it to give. Long as you are giving something with an open heart it will be appreciated. Something as simple as a hug could make someone’s day.

Sometimes people need to do for themselves I have enough on my plate to be worried about the next man. I want to eat off my own plate without the next man trying to take mine.
Very true… people who give from the right place (which is to receive nothing in return) seem to get the greatest gift of all. Which is knowing you’ve done something to help, guide, make someone smile… etc. Giving is something that is in my nature, so much so, it’s difficult for me to receive well. I am learning, but giving is a gift I never plan to give up… and I hope as you continue you find even more experiences to give as you did this past weekend. Those kids will never forget that… 🙂
It is hard to find people that just give to give. Most people give to receive. I have trust issues when I see people being to nice to me. I dont know how to take that. I rather you just walk right past me honestly. I guess we are just wired around the environment we grew up in.
I like what you guys are up too. Such intelligent work and reporting! Carry on the excellent works guys I have incorporated you guys to my blogroll. I think it’ll improve the value of my website :).
Keep giving it is a good thing you know. I try to do the same.
