Abolishing the relationship with your significant other.

Imagine you have a significant other, whom you state; you have a dedicated and strong relationship with. After sometime, say five or ten years, you start to remove their affiliation in your life. Now, I’m not saying that previously they were being outwardly recognized at every event, every function, and every moment that you breathed.  However, their presence was there, you constantly felt them. In your heart you know that this person assisted you in getting through your trials and tribulations. They provide comfort and many times they were your rock, when you could not be strong your self. Moreover, the presence of this relationship is still as captivating, vibrant and positive, if not more, as it was on day one. Unfortunately, one morning it has become evident that the mere thought of this significant other is becoming increasingly unpopular. The mentioning of their name causes uproar. This uproar is not positive. You’re getting much backlash from their presence, so you gradually start removing their “presence” from your life. You remove them from your Facebook (your single now, no more couple pictures), from your phonebook; you hesitate to mention their name in conversations with others. You demand that they not churn the waters and that you would rather for them to not dabble in your “personal” endeavors. You got this now, you inform this significant other to “stay out”! Your significant other agrees to let you be; after all you don’t want them in your life, why should they force their “presence” upon you.

Then tragedy happens, you’re broken, your barely surviving, if you survived at all. You ask, how could this happen? Your teeth are gnashing with anger and doubt. You ask where is my significant other? You demand, explanation, as to the where abouts of your significant other? They could have stopped this, Why did they not assist? Why did they not provide the strengthening resource that they have provided for so many years?

Then you look in the mirror and in a fleeting thought of recollection, you remember. You asked them to stay out, you informed them not to dabble in your personal matters. You no longer mentioned their name, you took their pictures down, and you no longer come around. You dissolved the relationship and rejected their “presence”.

Now replace “significant other” with “God”. As we continue to remove God from our schools, our playgrounds, our everyday lives, our country; what is the outcome that we expect?

  1. We have forgotten the basic principles of our foundation. A house can not stand without a foundation. We like to put more attention on the prettier things like the living room and the kitchen you need these that is true, but they are not what the house stands on. Our value system is dying in america. If we don’t get back to it it will be lost.

  2. Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to know a lot about this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. I think that you just can do with some percent to drive the message house a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.

  3. What are you talking about? This looks like an eloborate article about absolutely nothing. Sorry so crude…but I just don’t get it.

  4. What don’t you get? I was about to write this entire response but for what you. If you don’t see then that is a personal problem.

    1. The whole thing, it’s not really coherent. Maybe it’s just me, but I dont see the signicance of the article.

  5. Our faith should constantly play a role in our every day lives, not just during difficult times. Great read. Very thought provoking.

  6. Good post. I learn one thing tougher on completely different blogs everyday. It would all the time be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a bit of something from their store. I’d prefer to make use of some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll offer you a link on your internet blog. Thanks for sharing.
